I want to show you my lovely new print from Cartolina, with an image of the Eiffel Tower reproduced from a Victorian postcard. People who know me probably know how much I love Paris, so how could I resist this… c’est tres jolie, non?
If you aren’t already familiar with Cartolina, allow me to introduce you! Based in Nelson, BC, Fiona Richards designs lovely, environmentally-friendly stationery featuring vintage images. As described on Cartolina’s website, it’s a “curiously unique collection of stationery with a fresh modern twist.”
iPhone users – Cartolina also has an app that you can can use it to text or email short, but very sweet messages. I love it! Download it from the iTunes App Store and you can send pretty messages too…
I also have a second print…. and decided it would be fun to share, so I’m happy to announce a Cartolina giveaway!
Here’s the print you could win:

I love the colours in this one. The background is from an 18th century engraving, and the carved wood cartouche was painted by Fiona’s partner, illustrator Doug Jones. The image is printed on 10″ x 13 1/4″, printed on 11″ x 17″ paper, and it will be rolled and mailed in a sturdy box. As an extra surprise, Fiona is generously providing some cards as well! That’s a lovely package that will be going out to somebody…. will it be you?
To enter: just visit Cartolina – the web site, the blog or the Etsy shop, then come back here and leave a comment, telling me about something you saw there that you liked. One lucky winner will be chosen by draw and announced on Tuesday, March 22nd!
As an avid letter writer, and world-wide friend :o), I loved the Cartolina cards!! They would be perfect to wish a friend happy birthday, send holiday greetings (the Christmas ones are lovely!), or a few simple words from another side of the planet. The vintage look of them would make the card-surprise a unique one for sure.
Do I need to say it… Count me in!, please, for the giveaway :o)
have a great day!
I’ve been loving Fiona’s pictures from her recent trip to San Francisco! I’ve been eyeing her prints ever since she first mentioned her plans to make them. This one happens to be in my top 3 favorites! Thank you for doing this
I love the Water Lily Art print – it’s very simple, yet the colors are so vivid and the artwork so incredibly detailed! I love to visit Fiona’s blog, she always has something new and delightful posted!

I really love her Dancing Girl Art Print!
oh my goodness, I’ve just seen something I MUST buy, the love birds on page 8 of the website, cute birdies with a sign saying ‘Love is in the air’.
I think after a stressy first night back at work, I deserve a treat heheheh
Thank you for introducing me to the site xxx
I am a huge fan of Fiona’s. I love the feminine and vintage feel of her work. She incorporates many of my favorite things (birds, butterflies, flowers) into her pieces. Not only is she talented, but she is a sweet, lovely person as well!
Fiona’s blog is a lovely place to visit. She always has such interesting finds to share! I’m also a huge fan of her designs. I love her vintage inspired designs.
I really enjoy how creative Fiona’s blog is. Her piece on San Francisco was very appealing.
I love everything! I think, I’ll post about the Bojour Eiffel Tower Art Print on Etsy. Love the colors, texture and always dream of going to France one day.
I LOVE love LOVE that the designs are inspired merely by things around Fiona. I read her about page, and by the looks of her photo, and how much she obviously loves what she does… I would love to meet her. I think there’s a lot I could learn from Fiona. I’m a design student trying to find my place in this world of competition. But like Fiona, I guess it’s necessary to just do what you love, make stuff out of what you appreciate, and the rest will follow. I love what I do, and people like Fiona make me love them for what they do. <3
pick one thing… ooooh that’s tough… but I really love the notebooks with frilly skirts… and then there’s the pocket mirrors… hmm. Hard to narrow it down!
I love Cartolina. Have the app, a beautiful notebook, and have my eye on the owl print on the website. My Mother collects owls so think that might be an upcoming birthday present.
I have been following Cartolina for a while now and love her work as much as the cool and funky finds she share on her blog. I would love to win a print! Thank you for sharing.
I love her cards and have been using her app since it came out. What a sweet way to send a little e-mail. I would love this print. Thanks, Sally
oh i like her etsy, it’s very colorful and have a vintage look! my fav is the skirt
THE THE SKIRT SERIES….VERY SWEET.
Cafe Cartolina is in my google reader and I simply love scrolling through the collection of things she’s found. I’m loving the peek into her SF trip right now. And her e-holiday cards were initially what brought me to her blog. Simply lovely!
Oh, I love Cartolina designs! The teacups print is one of my favorites.
I really like the “from the skirt” series of prints she has. All that dress and material and fluff.. with a tiny shoe peeping out.
I love the dream big print! So pretty
I love her skirt series notebooks and prints. I have one of the skirt notebooks and about four others of hers. Love them! From the colors, to the design, to the French inspiration. Speaking of inspiration, I know that if I am in need I can always visit her blog and receive some instant inspiration.
i love her new baby stuff
I LOVE all the prints from Cartolina! I have been a loyal follower of Fiona’s blog for some time. And would LOVE to win one of her prints! I wish everyone the best of luck in this giveaway.

We love Fiona’s work! Pretty hard to pick just one but I do love the new Home print featured today! I also love the Dream Big for one of my kids rooms…her shop is all just too lovely!
I love the birds and colors on the Love is All You Need Art Print!
I love to visit the Cartolina site as I am a Kootenay girl at heart, even though I live far away now! Loved the little armchair trip to S.F. today!
It’s not easy picking a favorite but my 2 top choices would be the Dream Big, Hot Air Balloon and the Wish Big, Elephant art prints!
I am in love with the skirt series stationary. ….. I am an American married to a Brit and we live with our rescue cats (2) in California…..I have travelled to Bath, England UK and visited the Jane Austen Museum there…..your skirt series brought me back to all the treasures and eye candy at the Museum that day….Also…I noticed the Hot Air Balloon and I had a flashback to something I had drempt about just recently…that’s right….it was Hot Air Baloons…there were 5 of them ascending at the same time directly in front of my office window…..this is not an unusual sight where I live…but what is unusual is that because of your fine work I had the fortune to remember the dream…Thank YOU !

I’ve been following Cartolina for a while and I check in every day to see what new wonderful things she has. I love her photos and most recently, the photos of the San Francisco store fronts were stunning. I wanted to pack up and go shopping there right away.

Thanks for all the comments! It’s so sweet that so many of your are regular visitors to Cafe Cartolina – I hope you will be regular visitors to Pennello Lane now too. So, who’s going to win . . . . hmmmmm . . . .
One lovely thing? Man, that is tough. So many beautiful prints to choose from. If hard pressed to select just one, I think I’d go with the Bon Appetit art print. It’s lovely.
Beautiful blog giveaway! No need to enter me – just wanted to leave a comment and support your blog and Fiona! I ADORE her creations and also happen to have just purchased THIS very PRINT in your giveaway which is stunning!
Good Luck and whomever wins it will be thrilled!
xo
I love the Dream Big print! But I also LOOOVE the Home print that’s up for the giveaway. We are buying a house (like right now) so it’s perfect!!

Have been reading Fiona’s blog for quite some time and she never ceases to amaze me with her finds. I especially love the photos of their home and city.
I love the hand shadow cards featured on her blog, and especially the one of the rabbit. I live with two wonderful house rabbits so I’m a bit biased!
Wow, that is gorgeous! I am about to visit the website. Art, cards – I’d better hide the credit card. I found you via Gal Friday xxx
Hello!
I like the new Cartolina Card “Love ist in the Air” very much.
I love it, because I feel the spring when I see it.
Best wishes
Funkelsteinchen
Pick? One? Thing?
Huh?
Not possible… I love the petticoat cards, and all the notebooks… I ADORE the “Bonjour” print you got…
I think maybe her “Happy Birthday” rabbit? Maybe?
Do you think though that it is fair to all the others to say he is my favourite? That lovely Robin Red-Breast may take issue with that, and I wouldn’t want to start anything
To be honest, the one I would probably get would be this HOME one because I have the perfect spot for it and I love the lettering… but don’t tell the others…
Other than all of her ideas and work, I love her post and pictures of SF storefronts! While online shops like Etsy and personal artists shops are amazing, real brick and mortar shops have something that can’t be experienced online. I love the charm of San Francisco…I’ve been there for the last 2/3 New Years and I think I definitely “left my heart” there!
